Save California Salmon and Sportfish

Years of drought have caused huge problems in California and the resulting battles over water rights have left salmon caught in the middle.

The Gaining Responsibility on Water Act of 2017, put forward by Rep. Valadao, passed the House on a partisan vote without a single committee hearing. Officially known as H.R.23, it now sits in the Senate, referred to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, awaiting further action. Both Senators for California, Sens. Feinstein and Harris put out a joint press release in July, 2017 against HR 23.

If passed, it could be devastating to California’s salmon runs.
